Jackie Gino, an aspiring original music band, has shared the stage with such acts as Hoobastank, 2 Skinny J's, Jimmy's Chicken Shack, and Robby Krieger of The Doors. Jackie Gino has toured the east coast, mid-west, and recently spent a week in Los Angeles. The band has traveled to the Bahamas in 2005 and 2006 with DC101 and MTV for Station Six Tours and maintains consistent show dates throughout the year in the mid atlantic region, as well as continued airplay on DC101's Local Lix in Washington D.C. Officially, Jackie Gino would like to thank all of their fans (friends and family) over the years for the continued support, amazing shows, and belligerent activities (to be honest ;)
Jackie Gino was first started by Bob Riggs (vocals, guitars) and Mike Cuthriell a.k.a. Country (vocals, guitars) in the fall of 1999 @ George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. They began writing and recording music that fall and performing on the campus of GMU. In the summer of 2001, the two songwriters moved to the Jersey Shore and began performing weekly acoustic gigs in Atlantic City and at local parties. At the time, they called themselves "Mid-Air Goose Collision."
In the fall of 2001, they met Erik Wiesbock (drums, keys) and began adding his talent to the mix. The final addition was good friend Shad McAllister (bass) at the end of the year. In January of 2002, Jackie Gino was named and performed their fist show under that name at Jaxx in Springfield, VA to 200+ friends and family.
Since the spring of 2002, the band has released three official EP's (Who is Jackie Gino? - Come Alive EP). Their latest EP (BOOM) was recorded at Dragonfly East Studios in Haymarket, VA with producer/engineer Scott Spelbring (Jason Mraz and SR71) and mixed by Jim Ebert who has produced albums with Meredith Brooks and the band Everything. Jackie Gino is currently taking some time off to write new music and is in the process of booking show dates for Spring and Summer of 2007 and is planning on putting out a Live CD in the Summer.
Love and Respect
